That entry really helped me a lot, now generating Links in Mails generated in the frontend linking to backend-stuff is no problem, and linking to frontend-stuff from the backend or even other apps is no problem anymore.

I feel almost like I was there but if you could detail or provide pointers to slides from Marc Weistroff to understand the most important part would be great, please install the notify via email plugin to get replies via email on this blog, check http://www.craftitonline.com on how it is done and what plugin I use.

I use the following in symfony 2:

route_name:
pattern: /:controller{slash}
defaults: { _controller: bundle:controller:action }
requirements:
slash : ‘\/?’

Hope this is useful. And yes, it creates an unused parameter $slash.
